I'm dancing to make a difference for sick kids!

When a child is injured, or diagnosed with a serious illness, it affects the whole family. Lives can be turned upside down, and it puts families under enormous pressure. For many families, it can feel like it’s impossible to hold it together.

That’s why I’m joining Ronald McDonald House Charities to Dance for Sick Kids this year.

I’ll be making a move every day for 7 days, to raise money that will help families stay in a home-away-from-home, access emotional and financial support, and more. From day one in the hospital and for as long as it takes, your help ensures that families don’t have to navigate the challenges of illness or injury alone.

Please support me by making a tax-deductible donation to my challenge. Your generosity will make sure that Ronald McDonald House Charities can support even more families with a seriously ill or injured child when they need it most.

My Dance Diary

Day 7 - 24th May

Monday 26th May
That’s a wrap!!! I danced 480 minutes in 7 days to complete the Dance for sick kids challenge, my team as a whole danced a a total 1349 minutes . It was definitely a challenge trying to squeeze in at least an hour a day, but we got there. My wonderful team Adeline and Brydie managed get through the 7 days of dance despite their crazy schedules too. Our bodies are fatigued, but we did what we love for a cause that we care deeply about. I dedicate this challenge to the loving memories of kids who may not have been so lucky in their journey of health. May their families live on with wonderful memories. To the families who are currently struggling with sick kids, every little bit counts and I am happy to have raised enough to contribute to a family’s 7 night stay. With the incredible support of my family, friends and colleagues, we were able to make this happen. A big heartfelt thank you to all those who have sponsored me and my team. Your generosity has really made a difference. Thank you 🙏🏼 To my team Adeline and Brydie, thank you for joining me on this journey. To Geri who unfortunately got sick during the week of our challenge, thank you the wonderful gesture. You all have a heart of gold. In celebration of the week gone by, we were able to sit back and enjoy MJ the Musical. We were inspired by the incredible choreography and highly recommend this show. Pure entertainment. With love & light always Jackie

Day 6 - 23rd May

Saturday 24th May
It’s Friyay! Today I brought it back to old skool 90’s, my favourite era where dance moves and music were just taken to the next level. Taking it back to where dance all began for me and that’s with JFH (jazz, funk, hip hop). I had another super late session where I had to squeeze in the hour of dance at the end of the night. It’s all about priorities and tonight was family night. Dinner and movie night and loads of hugs and kisses. I am one lucky mum 💕💕💕💕 A huge thank you for the sponsorship that is rolling in. We are grateful for all the support and encouragement. With love & light, Jax

Day 5 - 22nd May

Thursday 22nd May
If I am to be honest, the struggle was real today, The rain and heavy down pour, my fatigued body and just trying to squeeze in 60mins of dance was incredibly difficult as a full time working mum. I also had my flu vax today at work, my left arm is dead, so I had to dig a little deep today. Worked on this one move that I really want to master (thanks to the incredible Mayara Lima, the ultimate samba queen). I personally call it Air Lima (like Air Jordan hehe). It’s the one move where she literally gets some air time. I’ve been working on it. Will I master it, I don’t know, but I’ll definitely give it a good go. Attached is a pic of my air time attempt. It was just a screen shot of the video I took. Still needs a lot of work. So when the tiredness kicks in and the only option is to train late at night, when all I want to do is snuggle in a warm cozy bed, I remind myself what I am doing this for, what my team is doing this for, and what all our generous sponsors have supported us for, and that is all I need to get through Day 5. Power on! With love & light, Jax

Day 4 - 21st May

Wednesday 21st May
Today Adeline, Brydie and I did a samba class with the ever so talented Nandara from Darua lab and what an amazing class that was. We were dancing with our fellow samba sisters, Karla, Lesley, Ellie and so many other amazing samba dancers. Doing what we love for such a great cause. Day 4 brings with it sore bodies, but once that music starts we are instantly recharged. Normally at this point in our weekly dose of training or workouts we have rest days but we are determined to keep going with only another 3 days to go to meet our 7 day challenge. We do this also for our wonderful and generous sponsors. We thank you so much for your support and kindness. Life is definitely better when you Dance! 💕💕👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

Day 3 - 20th May 2025

Tuesday 20th May
Today we had the pleasure of dancing with LaFiesta! Worked up a sweat and will no doubt feel some body aches tomorrow. We even worked on our Beyoncé walk (as seen in the image above), not as easy as people may think it is. Still have not mastered it 🤣🤣 Thank you to our additional supporters. It really means a lot to us. Sometimes superheroes reside in the hearts of small children fighting big battles. 💕💕💕

Day 2 - 19th May

Monday 19th May
Today I was fortunate to have Shadow (yes Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog) join me. 🤩 We brought back and oldie but a goodie. Last time we danced to Waka Waka was 2 years ago, and it was just as fun today. Something to add to my TJ and Mummy duets album. Today was 60mins of freestyle, choreo and just pure dance and joy with my lil man. Big heartfelt thank you for all the support that is still rolling in. I am truly touched by the genuine care, love, prayer and thoughts that keep coming through to help those seriously sick kids out there. For those of you who have gone through this in the past and for those of you going through this now, know that there are kind people who are there for you sending out their positive vibes. With love and light always. Jax

Day 1 - 18th May 2025

Monday 19th May
Kick started my Dance for sick kids challenge with beautiful Jen who has embarked her samba journey today. Brings me so much joy to share the love of dance, movement and music to others. With a dance background in salsa and bachata, Jen has never tried samba before and was super keen to start after seeing us perform at a function she attended. Well done Jen! Today was all about teaching body isolation movements, basic samba and timing. Day 1 of my challenge done ✅

Thanks to all the generous people who’ve donated to my challenge.
